M.D. ANDERSON CANCER CENTER
HS&A was the Project Management Consultant for the George & Cynthia Mitchell Basic Sciences Research Building (BSRB) at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. HS&A was engaged by UT System through OFPC when the Project was behind schedule in the fall of 2003. We were initially hired to evaluate the project status, culminating in a report to management. Our task then shifted to working with the Project Team to develop an accurate schedule, resolve a backlog of issues, and lead the team to completion. The nine-month assignment ended with the achievement of Substantial Completion on the target date established in Spring 2004. We coordinated closeout for two additional months.
The BSRB is a state-of-the-art research building that includes flexible research and laboratory areas, as well as classrooms and auditorium spaces. The building also has two vivarium levels housing laboratory animals for cancer research.
